It is a place for the troubled supernatural young adults of the world. It has a history dating back one-hundred and sixty years, having housed thousands of supernaturals and gifted beings in its time.
But in the years Manson has been around it things are inevitable not going to stay perfect. Manson is unknown to the general population with only other supernaturals and those in higher power aware it even exists. This means funding the place to keep all the deranged, errant vampires, werewolves and gifted individuals out of the public eye is difficult.
Much of the building is not being looked after. The world is a expensive place to live and the academy does anything it can to save money. Through the years the academy has changed management many times, now it is in the hands of a arrogant, money hungry Headmaster, who sees it that as long as the residents are detained and he is getting paid, then there comfort is far from important..

Twilight Symphony!
Most years around Autumn time, the academy holds a party or trip out to celebrate another 'successful' year of being open. But with the recent 'humming' event causing residents to go primal, it seemed likely the party will be cancelled.
But since the annual party is a chance for staff and students to relax a little, where rules regarding who can interact with who and drink what, are normally relaxed, the higher ups decided to move it rather then cancel it. After all, a moral boost is what most need.
